“There’s something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You can never quite tell where they will take you.” That’s how the movie, Miss Potter, starring Renee Zellwegger as Beatrix Potter begins.
This sweet movie takes us to 1902. Beatrix Potter is thirty-six years old. She is unmarried and has just found a publisher for her children’s book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit.
Now a proper lady of this time would be married, attending social gatherings and having tea in the afternoon. A proper lady would not be consumed with her drawings and be trapesing around the city to speak with publishers. Beatrix was a rebel in her time. This movie chronicles the highs and lows in the life of a 1902 rebel.
Do you question that you are too old to persue your dreams? Do you think love will never find you? If so, spend some time with Miss Potter. This movie will take you on a journey which will have you rethinking those thoughts.
